At Basingstoke and Deane Community Leisure Trust, weunderstand the importance of reducing our carbon footprint and being‘green’. Over the past few years, wehave been working hard to improve our environmental performance, and have hadsome great successes; some of our actions have even been replicated at otherleisure centres.
Together, the Aquadrome and Tadley Pool reduced their CO2emissions by 377 tonnes in 2008 compared to 2007 – this was a 12% reductionwhich we are very pleased with. We willcontinue to work toward further reductions both now and in the future.
Our savings have been achieved through a common senseapproach to reducing unnecessary use, ensuring settings were optimised,installing new equipment and raising staff awareness.
